The Chicago Bears Acquired QB Nick Foles from the Jacksonville Jaguars this past offseason via trade in order to bring 2017 2nd Overall Pick Mitchell Trubisky due to an underwhelming performance from Trubisky over the 2019 NFL Season. Since this has occured the "open QB Competition" that Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace have been trying to create seems all but over in Bears fans minds. Austin and Reece breakdown the reasoning why Bears Fans are doing this and how Chicago Bears fans scapegoat Mitchell Trubisky or Matt Nagy in an attempt to further their view on the teams surrounding pieces.
David Montgomery had a fairly good season his rookie year in 2019, but this year many national media analysts believe the beloved Bears Running back will be in for an even better year in 2020. Austin and Reece discuss why David Montgomery has so much hype going in to the 2020 Season and wether or not they believe he will actually live up to his hype.
Finally, with the 2020 NFL season quickly approaching, the Chicago Bears still have some holes they could fill on their team. Austin and Reece breakdown current NFL Free Agents the Chicago Bears should pick up and Players on other teams they should consider trading for.

The Chicago Bears have yet to live down drafting current starting QB Mitchell Trubisky 2nd overall. Trubisky has mightily struggled over the past 3 seasons, but Bears fans had a bit hope now due to the press conferences with Mitchell Trubisky, Ryan Pace, and Matt Nagy. Mitchell Trubisky believes he has made major improvements with reading defenses and has supposedly changed his throwing mechanics for the first time ever, a trait that many people have been very critical of. Trubisky also mentioned that he has made major improvements with reading defenses and footwork. Matt Nagy also noted that the Bears athletic training staff has commented on just how good his shoulder looks and how well of shape he is in physically. But it hasn't just been the Chicago Bears front office and coaching staff that has voiced support for Mitchell Trubisky, but also players. Previously, Ted Ginn Jr. came out and said he views Trubsiky as the starter; the same sentiment has been echoed by Anthony Miller. In this episode of the Bear Necessities Podcast, Austin and Reece discuss whether or not they are buying in to the Trubisky hype and how they believe these improvements could impact his play on the field.
In other news, Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list, ultimately meaning that he has either contracted COVID or was in contact with someone who tested positive- Austin and Reece discuss how this could impact the NFC North and What it means for the NFL. Bears UDFA Artavis Pierce has also been elevated from the COVID Reserve list which ultimately means he can join the team for training camp. Ryan Pace was also Quoted this past week describing that he has felt the full support of the Chicago Bears Organization- Austin and Reece Discuss whether or not Ryan Pace deserves that safety or not.
This past week also, Pro Football Focus came out in an article and claimed they believed that Allen Robinson could potentially be traded by the Chicago Bears. Austin and Reece discuss the possibility that Ryan Pace trades Allen Robinson away from the Chicago Bears, and give four other potential trade candidates.
Finally, Austin and Reece round out the show with a discussion about Six potential Bears breakout candidates that could have a huge season ahead of them this year.

Eddie Goldman has been a Staple of the Chicago Bears Offensive Line for almost his entire career. He has been incredibly relaible and a force to be reckoned with at 3-4 DT. The Chicago Bears Recieved the unfortunate news Tuesday morning that he will not be playing in the NFL this season due to personal concerns about Covid-19. This leaves the Chicago Bears will added cap room in the 2020 NFL season, but also a major hole at an extremely important position on the Defensive Line. In this Episode of the Bear Necessities Podcast, Austin and Reece discuss the hole left by Eddie Goldman and players the Bears should target in Free Agency with their new added cap space.
There has also been a rumor swirling around that Chicago Bears Quarterback Nick Foles may in fact be opting out of the 2020 NFL season as well due to recently having a baby this past off season. Luckily, this rumor has been shot down by many NFL insiders who claim that the there is no validity currently. Austin and Reece discuss the logic behind this Chicago Bears Rumor and the impacts that it could have if it ever came to a reality.
Chicago Bears Head Coach Matt Nagy and GM Ryan Pace met with the media this past Wednesday to discuss the past offseason and the introduction to training camp. In this meeting both Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace made it abundantly clear the QB Competition is wide open and that there will be a collective effort in deciding who will win the job. Matt Nagy also made it clear that who ever wins will have a "tight leash" on them and that poor performance will be punished.
Finally, the Miami Marlins are struggling with Covid-19. 14 Players tested positive and thus the entire team had to go in to quarantine an abundance of games had to be rescheduled to accommodate for the outbreak. Austin and Reece discuss how the success of other teams in preventing Covid infections will impact the NFL and the Hometown Chicago Bears approach to the 2020 NFL Season.

Finally, the Chicago Bears have been making some moves. This past week they traded Adam Shaheen to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a conditional 6th round pick. This move came following the release of Tight End Ben Braunecker both of which save the Bears about 1.5 Million dollars this year. Austin and Reece breakdown the reasons why the Chicago Bears decided to get rid of these two players and what it could mean for this season
Jamal Adams was traded to the Seattle Seahawks this past week for two first round picks and some change. This is a relevant move for the Bears who traded for Khalil Mack in 2018 for less draft capital than the Seahawks traded for Adams. Austin and Reece Discuss the Adams trade and how it reflects on the Chicago Bears move for Khalil Mack in 2018.
This past week the NFL and NFLPA came to a salary cap agreement on how to handle the revenue losses due to Covid-19 unfortunately that may result in a loss of 24M in cap between 2020 and 2021 Season. Austin and Reece discuss how this will specifically effect the Bears and other teams across the NFL
Finally, Austin and Reece finish off the show by giving three bold predictions each for the Chicago Bears 2020 Season and explain their reasoning behind the predictions.

The Chicago Bears and the rest of the NFL have had a less than ideal offseason thanks to Covid 19. However, the Chicago Bears are finally going to be returning to training camp in 3 phases. The first of which, on July 21st, Rookies will report to Halas Hall. Austin and Reece talk about the potential implications that returning to training camp may have for the team and express their concerns for player safety during the camp.
In recent Chicago Bears News, Khalil Mack is not a player that tends to be vocal, however, this past week he voiced his disatisfaction with the NFL's management of player concerns during Covid-19 on his twitter. He was also joined by players such as Richard Sherman and Patrick Mahomes. Austin and Reece discuss khalil's tweets and how the NFLs mismanagement of Covid concerns could potentially lead to detrimental efffects on the league this Fall.
During Bears training camp there is always a multitude of storylines to be aware of. This offseason however, Ryan Pace has established major depth at a multitude of positions that could lead to some unsuspecting players cut by the end of camp. Austin and Reece predict some suprising players that might find themselves without a job by the end of training camp.
With the Covid 19 inflicted NFL season, no team can be crossed out for going to the Superbowl. Austin and Reece round out the show by giving their individual milestones the Chicago Bears need to reach to go bowl to the super.

The Chicago Bears struggles with having any sort of stability on offense in the 2019 season. The One bright spot offensively the entire year was Wide Reciever Allen Robinson who reached over 1000 yards and continuously showed to be the WR the Chicago Bears were searching for in the 2018 offseason. However, Allen Robinson admitted that despite being in his last contract year, the Chicago Bears have yet to reach out to him regarding a new contract. Although it is unlikely Robinson would hit Free Agency next year, many Bears fans are fed up with the handling of the fan favorite reciever. Austin and Reece Breakdown the reasons behind Ryan Paces decision to wait on an extension and discuss wether or not the Bears could survive without Allen Robinson in their future.
Despite all of the disrespect coming from the National Media, Khalil Mack was ranked as the NFLs top edge rusher by front office executives and head coaches. This is not surprising considering the statements that have been coming from the Bear Necessities crew and their consistent debunking of National Media "experts" who often times are very ill informed on the content in which they are putting out.
In other NFL news, Myles Garrett, Browns star pass rusher became the first player to surpass Khalil Mack's historic contract for a defensive player by recieving a 5 Year 125 Million dollar contract from the Cleveland Browns this week. Austin and Reece Breakdown the outlook on this contract and wether or not Garrett will live up to his dollar amount.
Finally, Austin and Reece end the show by giving 4 Players on the Chicago Bears who could potentially be traded in the 2020 Season. Although some may be shocking and others unlikely, Austin and Reece both acknowledge that no player is safe on this Bears team.

The Chicago Bears have desperately been looking to improve their run game. One point that many national media analysts have pointed to is the lack of a rotational back between David Montgomery and Tarik Cohen. This past week, Raheem Mostert requested a trade leading many to believe that the Bears could potentially be interested due to his size-explosiveness combination he could bring to a running back group that is otherwise pretty polar opposites. Mitchell Trubisky has reportedly been having himself a major offseason leading many Bears fans to express faith in the 2017 2nd overall pick. The Chicago Bears have had quite the road these past two seasons. From breaking through the flood gates with a 12-4 season in 2018 to a majorly disappointing 2019 season, Matt Nagy and the entire bears organization have something to prove to Chicago fans in 2020. With revamping the team with notable names like Nick Foles, Robert Quinn, Jimmy Graham, Tashaun Gipson, and Ted Ginn Jr in Free Agency, and Cole Kmet and Jaylon Johnson in the draft, the Bears are looking to have at least a somewhat improved season. The Chicago Bears invested a lot of capital in Mitchell Trubisky and so far it has not panned out. The entire city of Chicago has been calling for his head since is overtly disappointing 2019 season. However, Mitch Trubisky has been hard at work with a well regarded QB Trainer and had major shoulder rehab for an injury that has bothered him since 2018. Austin analyzes Bears Fans' claims that this will have a big impact on his 2020 season. All while this is happening, Patrick Mahomes, Former NFL MVP and Superbowl Winner, just recieved a historical contract amounting to 503 Million over the next 10 years. This has led many Chicago Bears fans to once again call for GM Ryan Pace's head for picking the lack luster Trubsiky over the stud Mahomes in the 2017 NFL Draft. Austin defends Ryan Pace and talks a bit about what this contract means for the Kansas City Chiefs. Finally, Khalil Mack came to Chicago for 2 First Round Picks in 2018 just to light the league on fire with his play, but in 2019, statistically, he had a major regression. Bear's Defensive Coordinator Chuck Pagano and many other Bears defensive coaches have commented on the new chip on Khalil's shoulder and the new work ethic and mindset he has brought to the table. Reece takes a deep dive on exactly what Khalil is trying to prove in 2020 and how he can do so.

The Chicago Bears in 2019 had horrible QB Play from former 2nd overall pick Mitchell Trubisky. This ultimately led to the bears going out in the 2020 offseason to acquire Nick Foles from the Jacksonville Jaguars and change much of their offensive structure. At the time, many questioned this move considering the other quarterback options that were available on the market; one of those being Cam Newton. This past week Cam Newton was signed by the New England Patriots for a lot less money than Nick Foles is making with the bears currently, causing many Bears Fans to either stand up or defend Ryan Pace's decision. This week on the Bear Necessities Podcast, Austin and Reece breakdown the logic behind the Chicago Bears QB decision this offseason and compare Nick Foles to all other options that were on the table for the Bears at the start of NFL Free Agency in 2020, including recently signed Cam Newton.
